Fish Guts

September 10th, 2026. Dumped this out in less than 10 minutes after watching a depressing movie.

I’m gonna describe this like one of those flying fish.

I go in and out of the veil. Sometimes I see myself as a thing with no limits, capable of any and all whether or not it is possible. Half the time I am an expert at delusion. I swim up, I leap, I feel the otherworldly breeze. Higher than I’ve ever been. My eyes locking with the tops of mountains. There is no problem I can’t solve. Even sadness. My own tears fuel me. Pain is like skipping. It’s inspiring to remember that I can just do that. Go fast and in a way I am not used to. Sadness isn’t necessarily what pulls me down. It’s hopelessness. Hollow feeling, like I’ve been carved out. Suddenly I weigh nothing and suddenly everything can kill me. I’m all burnt out and back under, changing my mind and deciding that I am not built for this. It’s ridiculous how I keep going under and a little insane of me to continue aiming for behind the ceiling. I do not hold the capability to stay above. All I can do is get good at jumping. I can train endurance so that I get more looking time. Half the time I think I belong in outer space but for now I can enjoy working towards the next jump and imagining myself standing on mountains. One day I’ll have enough time to build a house there. That or grow some legs.
