Oh absolutely Dev Patel. Absolutely absolutely absolutely! Monkey Man is a refreshing take on an overdone storyline, that unlike its predecessors, delivers complex choreography and a uniquely personal narrative. Even parts that could’ve been fleshed out a little more were at the very least epic to watch. And with all the “it’s so bad it’s good” movies out there convincing everyone to settle for flashy one liners, it feels that common sense in directors is a long lost quality. Dev Patel proves that the revival is coming or at the very least gives hope for other rare diamonds. 
Not to mention his drive for this movie is quite unbelievable. This guy not only wrote, directed, and acted the hell outta this, he persevered through technical malfunctions, broken bones, and anything else that could’ve gone wrong during the process. And my god is he a looker. His commitment alone makes this project so incredibly worthy of discussion and discuss it I will.
